NAME; Ishida Mitsunari
FANDOM; Samurai Warriors
AGE; Approximately 23 years of age
SPECIES; Human
GENDER; Male

CHARACTER ID: 226416
ROOM NUMBER: 416

TIMELINE;
After the ending of his story mode in Samurai Warriors 2; his Western Army has defeated Tokugawa Ieyasu's Eastern army and have now gained the majority of the control of Japan in the name of the Toyotomi shogunate.

POWERS/ABILITIES;
Mitsunari is an extremely intelligent man, learned in both matters of state and war strategy. His mind is sharp and logical, but this logic now comes second place to his sense of honour. If something is logical but goes again honour, then he will not do it (ambushes are a big no in his book). He can fight a little with a fan, but this is mostly a self-defence style, as he is not that strong.

Sharp Tongue & Mind; His Personality
Possessing a sharp wit, a sharp tongue, arrogance, a streak of stubborness and a blunt honesty, Mitsunari is one of those people who gives that sense of feeling superior to everybody else. He is quite happy to point out a person's faults without hesitation and possesses a sarcastic side in addition to this, but is far slower to praise. Combined with a tendency towards arrogance (and occasional vanity) and you get one of those people who you would assume is practically incapable of making really good friends.

However, while he does have more than the usual share of enemies after him, he has also managed to make many good friends, especially in the form of Sanada Yukimura and Naoe Kanetsugu, with whom he made a vow of friendship and honour, and also Sakon Shima, in whom he places a huge degree of trust. He as also well liked by his Lord, Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

Why is this? Well, Mitsunari is very devoted to those who DO become his friends. He loathes the idea of ever letting them down and would do anything he could do make sure their belief in him is not unfounded. At heart he is a good guy, with a strong belief in honour, but his reluctance to ever stray outside of his set boundaries can annoy some, especially when he refuses to let them use their own methods in battle (including ambushes, which he considers dishonourable).

There are also plenty of hints within the canon that his outward personality is concealing insecurity and some degree of vulnerability, which he usually keeps well hidden, but it does slip out sometimes. He constantly refuses to admit that he is a very poor fighter, though as a man of great intelligence he should realise that it is true, suggesting that he keeps a hold on that image to make himself feel stronger.

Fox Of Mt. Sawa; His Appearance
Mitsunari possesses a slender build and is quite short (no more than 5'4"). His skin is very pale in colour and generally unblemished. As for his face, the young man possesses a feminine, fox-like beauty (obviously a link to his nickname, 'the fox of Mt. Sawa'). His eyes are of a warm hazel colour framed by long eyelashes, and his hair is auburn in colour, shoulder-length and rather silky-looking. This is left loose almost all the time.

He is known for having a taste for the colour pink, this, naturally, makes its way into his clothes. Typically, he wears two layers of black tops, edged with white around the collar, and these have long, elegant pink sleeves over white ones. The sleeve of the right arm only is tucked into a golden armour piece, and there is also a small piece of golden armour over the right shoulder. Over all this he wears a long, sleeveless jacket; the top half is white, the bottom half black, and it is edged in pink and gold. There is a crest on the back of the jacket and two on the bottom half, seperated by a split. The jacket can be done done up to some degree with a red cord, but never fully closed. He also wears pink gloves with small golden armour pieces attached.

His trousers are striped in black, white and pink, and he has a golden belt with cord attached. He wears long boots right up to his knees; they have a pointed toe and are black with golden armour attachments.

Mitsunari is well-known for his distinctive headwear: a golden headband with attachments made to resemble horns.

Honour Over Reason; His History
Mitsunari is a retainer of the Toyotomi clan. As a teenager he caught the eye of Toyotomi Hideyoshi after serving him tea during a visit to Mt. Sawayama, and served him from that moment onwards. The first real battle he ever assisted in was the Battle of Yamasaki, in which Hideyoshi defeated his master Oda Nobunaga's betrayer, Mitsuhide, and took on the role of Nobunaga's successor. He then began plans to conquer the war-torn land, and naturally, Mitsunari stood at his side. During this time Mitsunari's attitude and arrogance earnt him the hatred of several of the other Toyotomi retainers, who openly questioned Hideyoshi on why he kept the foxy man around; he simply told them to try and get along, being very much focused on creating a land where 'everyone could be happy.'

However, Mitsunari also ended up making some close friends, who accepted that he could be a difficult person to talk to but liked him nonetheless. These were Naoe Kanetsugu and Sanada Yukimura, who told him of honour. Before this time Mitsunari has only ever done things based on logical arguments, but they persuaded him of the important of honour in life. The three made a vow of honour and friendship together, and ever after they would have complete trust in one another. He also gained a retainer of his own, Shima Sakon, a man reknowned for being both strong and wise, who he would gradually come to depend on more and more.

It took many battles, most notably one against Tokugawa Ieyasu, before the Toyotomi clan finally took control of Japan. Hideyoshi became the new Shogun, and Mitsunari served as one of his ministers, overseeing key areas of state. Many believed this new peace would last forever, but Mitsunari was not convinced of this. He knew that after Hideyoshi died it was very unlikely that Ieyasu would follow his son, Hideyori, and would most likely make a bid for control of the land. Considering the fact that the Tokugawa were popular with many members of the Toyotomi court, it was likely that full-blown war would start again.

As it turned out, he was right, and this would all happen even earlier that he had suspected. Hideyoshi died rather young, his reign a short one, and after this Mitsunari was attacked by the Toyotomi retainers known to hate him whilst travelling. They claimed they wished to protect the Toyotomi line by killing Mitsunari, as he would only bring ill to them, but after being rescued by Yukimura and Kanetsugu a particular Tokugawa retainer was spotted assisting the retainers; Hattori Hanzo. Taking this as evidence that Ieyasu was making his bid for the land, and had incited the supposed loyal Toyotomi followers into trying to kill him, Mitsunari vowed to fight back, live and protect Lord Hideyori from Ieyasu.

After a series of battles two armies were formed. Those loyal to Mitsunari and the Toyotomi were known as the Western Army, and those loyal to the Tokugawa and those who wished to fight purely to defeat Mitsunari were known as the Eastern Army. Eventually they would clash at Sekigahara. The Western army came close to defeat thanks to man betrayals, but due to sheer resilience and determination Mitsunari would lead his army to victory, destroying the Eastern Army and driving Ieyasu, plus his remnants, back to their base in Edo. After giving a rare, rousing speech to his troops, and with peace once again in site, Mitsunari began pursuit of Ieyasu, determined to take him out once and for all.

However, just after starting this pursuit, Mitsunari finds himself on an ill-timed 'vacation...'

PERMISSIONS
Rating: Up to R.
Death: Contact me first about this and we'll see.
Smut: See above. Has to have a reason behind it - Mitsunari isn't the sort to randomly sleep with anyone. Maybe he daydreams about a certain special someone, though?
Yaoi - Het - Yuri: Mitsunari in canon seems to have more of a leaning towards those of his own sex... but I won't dismiss the het. It's less likely, though. 8'D
